We keep a close eye on feedback in the cloud storage world and were very intrigued by an article today that focused on the various problems/concerns that user have — and how different they are depending on the service used…
The writers at ReadWrite published some interesting thoughts on the concerns that users of cloud storage solutions have when asked about their experiences. Apparently, the concerns vary widely based on the particular service used. It seems the security is chief among the issues that cloud customers worry about with Dropbox (which has had notable security problems in the past), but iCloud and Google Drive didn’t even mention security, focusing on faults with the functionality (missing folders, OS compatibility, and others).
The source of the findings was almost as interesting as the observations themselves. ReadWrite credits answer site Fixya with providing the information. Team members there compiled the results from actual user data in their database of questions and answers.
